Vash is just trying to hang out but the entire town where he is pitches in to capture him.  They want the reward to repair a machine that is causing their town to be swallowed in sand.  The mayor of the town enlists the aid of the Nebraska Brothers who just broke out of jail.  Vash risks everything to save the people from the town from the brothers and, in doing so, convinces Meryl that he is indeed Vash the Stampede.
