A steamer arrives after Vash hands over the reward for the Nebraska Brothers to the town.  They now have enough money to repair the machine and the workers come into town.  The beautiful boss of the repair crew named Elizabeth hires Vash as her bodyguard.  For some reason this bothers Meryl.  Vash goes with Elizabeth to find a problem in one of the machines when she traps him in it, seeking revenge for something Vash doesn't remember doing.
