Yukito, after hearing about Misuzu's dreams of flying, tells her of his search for a girl with wings, a quest that his mother had.  When she died, he took up the search.  The next day Yukito is still trying to make money with his puppet show outside a clinic.  The owner, Hijiri Kirishima, seeing that he's not making any money, offers him work doing odd jobs.  Later Yukito finds out that it's Misuzu's birthday so he tries again to perform a show to raise money to get her something.  A man shows up and coincidentally gives him a birthday cake as payment for a show.  After he and Misuzu finish the cake they go to a shrine where they see Kano.  When they approach her, something strange happens...
