A man makes a recording on a cylinder and he talks about impending doom surrounding a group of white haired children he calls the Befort Children.  It is 1859 and a young boy named Conrad is visited at night in his room by shadows and his mother comforts him.  Later the white haired children find him and he tells them that he is through living this way, he wants to stay with his "mother".  Around 1901 the group of six kids arrive in the South Eastern Archipelago only to find that the woman they wanted to see has died.  She name was Serafine and she had been painting pictures of what looks like a tower behind a crescent moon.  Another young boy named Duma arrives with some men in black and the children must escape out of the window.  Unfortunately, one of the kids named Mel suddenly suffers from amnesia and is captured.
  111 years later in the year 2012, a boy named Tohma lives in the islands.  After practicing his fighting skills with his father he discovers a young girl among the statues on the island. 
He has to leave to get his mother and when he comes back he sees the girl being taken away by some men from his house.  He discovers that she lives in an orphanage and has run away.
