Louise Joy Brown was born at Oldham and District General Hospital in Manchester, England to Lesley and Peter Brown.  She was the world’s first baby to be conceived through in vitro fertilization.

   Camp David Accords Signed
Egyptian President Anwar el-Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin signed the Camp David Accords at the White House under President Carter thus laying groundwork for a permanent peace agreement between the two countries.
