The doctor and a busload of people travel through a wormhole to a desert planet.  The cops were after the bus because they were chasing a thief.  When they see it vanish, they call in UNIT.  The doctor has to work with UNIT and the their on the bus named Christina in order to get the bus safely back to Earth before certain doom.
