Ginko seeks shelter during a snow storm at a nearby home. He learns from the lady that lives there, Suzu, that her son, Miharu, can see mushi. He also learns that Miharu disappears in the mountains at the end of winter reawakens when Spring comes. Wanting to teach the boy the good and bad of mushi, he stays on a bit. The boy disappears while Ginko is watching him and he finds him on the mountain asleep. He leaves him there with his mother thinking that he'll reawaken again in the Spring. About a year later Ginko returns to find that the boy still has not woken up. He goes into the mountains to find the area where the boy last visited and himself falls asleep.
