With Misaki back with the crew, they discover that the Ghoul are moving in force against the universe travelling though all of the inflation points at the same time.  Misaki and Lyar head back into the core where Lyar fends off the undead guardians and Misaki tries to get more information.  What Misaki learns is that the inflation points are in fact a prison for the Ghoul set up by a race of being many years ago.  In order to contain them, that race became the necromancers which guard the gateway.
