Kantarou has been looking for a Tengu for a long time - the Demon Eater.  On his way to a new location he feels a demon nearby.  He rushes in to find a man encased in ice that has evil within it.  He helps free the man but tells the owner of the house that the demon who cast the spell was still around.  He then goes to the place where the demon eater is supposed to be and tries to fee him.  His efforts fall short until he gives him the name Haruka.  He comes forth from his rock prison and thanks Kantarou for freeing him.  They return back by the place where the man was freed to find a demon woman there.  Kantarou uses Haruka to defeat the demon and save the woman.  Haruka is troubled by the fact that he could only defeat the demon and not kill it.
