After Sara leaves Conchobar for work, a group of people bust into her apartment and kidnap him.  The beaten Conchobar learns that they are an Irish anti-terrorist squad that want to use him as bait for his brother who is a wanted member of the IRA.  Sara finds him and tries to strike a bargain for his life.  She gives the Witchblade to  the female member of the group before leaving to get the $2 million ransom.  After Kenneth Irons refuses, she uses "evidence" against a fellow cop to blackmail him in order to gain access to the police lockup and get the money.  Back at the warehouse, things go wrong and Sara gets into a gun battle with the group as she watches the woman with the Witchblade stab Conchobar.  Nottingham is there as well with orders to take the Witchblade back to Irons but, after seeing the effect of Conchobar's death on Sara, returns it to her wrist.
