Sara Pezzini is a New York detective on the trail of a mobster named Gallo who she knows killed her sister and father.  She confronts the man and the man with him flees.  She pursues him into a museum where she in united with a medieval gauntlet that help her to survive an explosion.  Later, after having some weird visions, she and her partner Danny stake out a theater where Gallo is to show.  Gallo kills Danny and Sara unconsciously invokes the gauntlet - the Witchblade - and destroys the henchmen there.  Now she must learn what this thing is that she has obtained and she talks with Kenneth Irons and Ian Nottingham to find out more.
