Tohma enters the Interval - the buffer dimension between ours and the Zone - in order to save Helga.  When he finds Helga, he tells her about his true identity as Seth and about his murder of Solan.  He prepares to sacrifice himself so that Tina can live but she demands that he atone for his sins by living and doing good as Tohma and not by allowing himself to be killed.  Tohma and Helga return and awaken in a hospital.  The rest of the Children decide to live out the rest of their lives in Earth even though it means that the memories will eventually fade.  Dumas takes the spaceship with Tina's body back to their planet.  Tohma tells Helga that, since he arrived on Earth with her, then she must surely meet Solan as well one day.
