Detective Cooks and Alice arrive on a forbidden island to investigate GED further.  They find a house and an old lab.  Cooks discovers a secret stairway into some undergound facility and they snoop further.  Gherta talks with the GED council about the Orsel experiments and the missing and dead people assiciated with it.  Dumas makes his presence known at the meeting which causes Gherta great alarm.  He is the close associate of the prince of the country funding the experiments.  Elsewhere the children begin their search now for Helga and finally track her down to Tohma's house.  Helga decides that she doesn't want to involve Tohma since he has a great family and doesn't want to cause them troubles.  She and Chitto leave in a row boat early in the morning before the children arrive.  Tohma awakens from a bad dream.
