The time has come for the doors to open on the solstice and for Taiki to try and find a new ruler.  People from Tai have come on a shouzan to see if they might be the king.  During the pilgrimage he meets Risai, a general whom he likes and gets along with her youma.  He also meets another general named Gyousou who seems to unnerve him with his red eyes.
