The crew of the Basroil are on leave and the officers elect to stay above the planet Lulukess while the crew enjoy their time planetside.  Meanwhile plans are drawn up for Operation Phantom Flame, a plan that will allow the Abh to regain territory that it has lost.  It turns out that the Sufugnoff battle was a decoy and that the real objective three years ago was Lakfakalle.  Many ships were destroyed on both sides of the battle but the Three Nations failed to destroy it.  For the last few years both sides have had an unofficial ceasefire while they rebuild.  Word comes down that Lafiel and her ship is to be assigned to the Battleship Squadron Latouche.  As the officers are heading back to the Bosroil, Lafiel informs Jinto Lin that the commander of the squadron is in fact the sister to the Baron Febdash, Atosuryua.
