An Invasion fleet shows up over Martine, the planet where young Jinto Lin lives and where his father, Rock Lin, is the Prime Minister.  Because of the size and firepower of the fleet, Rock Lin cedes the government to the Abh in exchange for nobility and rule over the planet.  Because the people will think this a bad idea and perhaps take it out on his family, Rock Lin's secretary Teal Clint takes the boy into hiding.  Teal lets the boy know how he thinks his father is a coward and a traitor even though he says he doesn't blame Jinto.  Now, seven years later, Jinto has been sent away to school to learn the ways of the Abh.  He is now an Abh noble and he's never seen an Abh in person.  That is about to change.
