The group makes it to the Fire Temple after a hot trek through a desert.  When they get there, they find the priestess, Shayla-Shayla, wrapped in a straw mat and half unconscious.  They find out that she lost her power lantern and her shrine in a game.  Makoto goes into town to see about getting them back and discovers that Jinai is the one who took them.  Jinai and Makoto challenge each other to a card game.  When it is discovered that Jinai is cheating, Shayla-Shayla takes revenge.
