Angel gives Buffy an amulet that can be worn by a non-human with a soul.  Their meeting is cut short as Caleb gets back up to fight.  Buffy finishes him rather convincingly and tells Angel thanks but he must return to LA as a second line of defence.  Buffy gives Spike the amulet and realizes that she knows how to defeat the First.  With the Slayer weapon, Willow endows all of the Potentials with Slayer powers and they all head into the Hellmouth to battle the Turok-Han army.  Things look bleak as the Ubervamps start emerging into the school.  The amulet that Spike is wearing starts glowing and, knowing that he must stay and see it through, tells Buffy and the others to retreat.
