As Buffy gives Wood the tour of her "training center", the First is infiltrating the ranks.  Chloe commits suicide.  Wood gives Buffy a bag of Slayer stuff that his mother had.  One of the items is a box with shadow puppets that opens a portal.  When Buffy goes through, a demon emerges and takes off.  Buffy, on the other side, is offered power but must sacrifice part of herself so she declines.  Meanwhile, Spike goes to find the demon while Willow re-opens the portal to re-exchange the demon and Buffy.
