Xander, Willow, Cordelia and Oz are on patrol and trying fight vampires while Buffy is missing.  Meanwhile, Buffy has her own place and is working as a waitress in Los Angeles under her middle name Anne.  A passing acquaintance (Lie to Me) recognizes her and that's all that is needed to spark strange happenings which only Buffy can handle.
