Buffy's mother has a new boyfriend named Ted.  When he threaten's Buffy she starts an investigation, against her friends' advice.  Ted attacks Buffy in her room after she gets home from patrolling and she fights back, accidentally killing him.  When Ted returns to Buffy's house later, things get strange.
