Angel provides a long lost tome to Giles in which a fatal prophecy fortells Buffy's death by the Master.  Buffy confronts the Master in order to save her friends but he kills her and is set free from his prison underground.  Angel and Xander find Buffy and Xander performs CPR to bring her back.  She is then able to confront the Master before his attack on the school is completed.
