   White Sox Trial Begins for Throwing the 1919 World Series
Judge Hugo Friend denied a motion to quash the indictments against MLB players that were accused of throwing the 1919 World Series.  The trial began with jury selection for the Chicago White Sox players.  The players included Shoeless Joe Jackson, Buck Weaver and Eddie Cicotte who later became known as the "Black Sox".
